U14 Boys Representative Soccer Team

2000 AGM Report

Coach: Spencer Rich
Manager: Bob Murkett
Treasurer: Dave Hookham
Fund Raising Co-Ordinator: Genevieve O'Neill

A call for team tryouts for U14 boys in May 2000 did not yield enough players to form an official team. Practices were conducted for those interested and all recreational league players born in 1986 were contacted and invited to attend. Attendance increased and team members took part in both outdoor training camps and in the 2000 Gold Rush Tournament where they placed first. Throughout the summer 18 practices were conducted and 10 games were played with other teams. While attendance during the summer was low at times due to family holidays, the team roster now stands at 15 players.

An executive was formed in July and fund raising meetings were held with parents in Sept. & Oct. to develop a plan involving a variety of activities, some of which are underway, and others to be conducted throughout the year.

Team revenues to date (fund raising and family contributions) $2252.56

Team expenses to date (tournament fee, indoor balls) $418.20

Team balance to date $1834.36

The team intends to apply for sanctioning within the next two weeks at which time a budget for the coming year will be presented.

Indoor practices will be held once a week Oct. till Apr. and some games will be arranged with other teams when possible. Tryouts are planned for May 2001. Outdoor practices will be 2-3 times per week through the summer with the possibility of a short break for holidays.

The 86ers intend to participate in an outdoor tournament in B.C., possibly in Langley or Kamloops in Aug. or Sept. 2001.
