2000 AGM REPORT

Tournaments
The Northern Flames participated in 4 tournaments between Oct. 1, 1999 and Sept. 30, 2000. This involved: hosting an indoor tournament against Juneau in April 2000, a trip to Juneau in early June 2000 to play 2 Juneau girls teams, attending the Langley Invitational Tournament Sept. 1-3, and hosting Juneau U12 girls in a 5-team tournament in Whitehorse Sept. 15-17, 2000.

The team has progressed significantly in the last year and won the Gold (t-shirt) in the U14 girls silver division in Langley with a record of 3-0-1 against teams from Langley, Aldergrove, North Shore, and Kamloops.

Soccer clinics
The Northern Flames participated in the YSA soccer clinics in January (17 attended), June (18 attended) and August (18 attended).

Tryouts
Tryouts for the 1999-2000 team were held in Sept 1999 and reported on in the last Annual report. Of the 18 original players, 2 dropped out during the winter. We subsequently held a "mini-tryout in May 2000 and accepted 4 new players.

The 2000 tryouts were held Sept 24th (outdoor) and October 1st (indoor). Twenty- six players tried out and 18 made the team. The evaluators were Lynda, Don, Carmen Ingram, Anne Chapman.

Winter Practices
The team practices 3 -- 5 PM Sundays at F. H. Collins School.

Year Plan The team plan for 2000/2001 includes as many as 4 tournaments – a possible indoor tournament in Anchorage in January, a trip to Juneau in April, host Juneau in June, and 1-2 tournaments in late August/early September. In B. C. We will participate in all of the clinic being offered by YSA and organize a "sleepover" team building weekend in November
