FITNESS TAX CREDITS 2017
Federal Government Ends Tax Credits Jan 1 2017
In April 2016, the federal government announced that they were ending the Fitness Tax Credit program in the 2017 tax year. Credits are applied to the taxation year in which transactions are made so a purchase made on Dec 31, 2016 would count in the 2016 tax year and would still be eligible for credit. But as of January 1, 2017, registrations are not eligible for tax credits because they fall in the 2017 tax year. As a result, Zone4 has stopped issuing tax credit receipts on Jan 1st 2017.
For more information on the changes to the Fitness Tax Credit program and the budget descision, please see here: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/gncy/bdgt/2016/qa06-eng.html

Meet Edgar Musonda, Head Coach and Technical Director
Whitehorse FC is excited to announce that Edgar Musonda will take on the role of Head Coach and Technical director for the club. Edgar brings over 15 years of international experience and expertise to youth soccer and we feel very strongly that his leadership will be a huge step forward for the soccer community of Whitehorse and the Yukon.
Edgar has coached both soccer and futsal in Whitehorse since 2012, most recently leading the U18 Boys Soccer Team to GOLD at the Mayor's Cup in Surrey March 2017, and the U16 Boys futsal team to a bronze medal at the 2016 Arctic Winter Games in Greenland.
Edgar’s soccer coaching and management career began in his home country of Zambia where in 1998 he established the “Chiparamba Breakthrough Sports Academy”. This successful academy focusses on grassroots youth community development through sports, at the same time providing the tools necessary for players to compete at the highest levels internationally across Africa, Europe and North America. https://chiparambabreakthroughsportsacademy.com/ His impressive coaching and management record also includes Ajax Cape Town in South Africa, Loughborough College in England and the Ottawa Internationals Soccer Club in Ontario. On top of his vast international coaching experience, Edgar also holds a Bachelor of Sports Science with Sports Management degree from Loughborough University and Diploma in Education with focus on Physical Education and History from the University of Zambia.
Edgar will bring his commitment to high quality soccer instruction together with his passion for community development and humanitarian outreach and help Whitehorse FC become established as a cornerstone of our local sports community. In his role as Head Coach and Technical Director, Edgar will be responsible for developing, overseeing and implementing all recreational and competitive (PREMIER) soccer programming for Whitehorse FC. He will also provide coaching leadership by mentoring, training and assisting our established coaches to implement sport philosophy and programming to help our young soccer players achieve their goals. We are confident that through Edgar’s leadership and nurturing, our young soccer players in Whitehorse will be on the right path to grow as confident and healthy young people and emerge as skilled athletes that can play the game at any level.
We all look forward to seeing and working with Edgar on the pitch this upcoming winter indoor season.
Edgar can be contacted directly at firstname.lastname@example.org
