Selects Find Success at Indoor Tournament,
Prince George, March 12-24, 1999

In the BC Indoor Soccer League Tournament in Prince George, March 12-14, the young Yukon all-star team made a name for Yukon soccer. Going throught the four game round robin period undefeated, including beating last year's tournament champions, they caught the attention of players, coaches and soccer enthusiasts in the province. Hans Niedermeyer, Vice President of the Prince George Soccer Association pretty well summed up the impression the Yukon Select soccer Team left in Prince George when he commented on the discipline of the team and how the quality of play was "almost professional."

The Selects youth players were Shaun Rudolph, Matt Larsen, Ryan O'Donovan, Ash Jordan, Brendan Preston, Stuart Knaack and Kyle Finner. The adults were Peter Mather, Simon Pulido, Dennis Taylor, Jake Hanson and Giuliano Rayo.

Some of the youth players have already been spotted around town proudly sporting their Selects team shirts.

The Selects thanks their sponsors for making the Prince George opportunity possible: FPC Investments | Norcan Rentals | Greyhound | Northland Beverages | High Country Inn | Envirolube | Tags Food and Gas | Subway | Tim Hortons.
